Oh Crumb is a coconut candle that opens with almond and buttery pastry, moves through a soft coconut heart and settles into a warm tonka and vanilla base. The croissant candle in the Light Bites collection - golden, buttery and unapologetically indulgent. The bakery scented candle that smells like a Sunday morning in a French patisserie.
Hand-poured in Melbourne, 115g natural soy wax, FSC certified wood wick. The comfort candle for kitchens, living rooms and anyone who believes breakfast is the most important meal of the day to smell like.
About Oh Crumb
A good croissant smells like butter, warmth and something slightly golden underneath. Oh Crumb is built around that smell.
Almond opens it, soft and slightly nutty, with a warmth that reads as freshly baked rather than marzipan. Buttery pastry sits alongside it in the opening, rich and warm, giving the candle its immediate bakery character without going fully into dessert territory. The combination is the smell of a pastry case in a good cafe - warm, golden and present from the moment you walk in.
Coconut moves through the heart, soft and creamy rather than tropical. This is not the coconut of a sunscreen or a beach spray. It is the coconut of a croissant aux amandes - subtle, slightly sweet, adding a creaminess to the buttery pastry opening that deepens the gourmand character without pulling the fragrance away from its bakery foundation.
Tonka sits in the base alongside vanilla, warm and slightly almond-like in character, with a depth that gives Oh Crumb its staying power. Tonka is what holds a gourmand candle together over a long burn and what keeps the buttery pastry and coconut from fading once the top note settles.
The name fits. The fragrance is the kind that makes you look around for what is baking. It is a dessert candle for people who know the difference between a croissant and a pain au chocolat and have strong opinions about both.
Developed in-house by founders Suji and Jeeva, IFRA certified, cruelty free, poured by hand in Melbourne. Part of the Light Bites collection.
Scent notes
Top: Almond, Buttery Pastry Heart: Coconut Base: Tonka, Vanilla
Reading the notes
Almond — soft and nutty in the opening, with a warmth that reads as baked rather than synthetic. It gives Oh Crumb its first phase and sets the bakery character of the fragrance from the first light.
Buttery pastry — rich and warm alongside the almond, the note that makes this a croissant candle rather than just a nutty one. It reads as golden and fresh rather than heavy or artificial.
Coconut — soft and creamy in the heart, not tropical. The note that deepens the pastry character of the opening and adds the creaminess that makes Oh Crumb read as a coconut soy candle with a genuine gourmand foundation.
Tonka — warm and slightly almond-like in the base, with a depth that holds the buttery pastry and coconut through the full burn. The note that gives this comfort candle its staying power and its warmth after the top notes settle.
Vanilla — soft alongside the tonka in the base, rounding the fragrance and leaving a gentle sweetness in the room after the candle is out.
How to use
Burn Oh Crumb for one to two hours per session. The 115g travel tin suits a kitchen bench, living room side table or any smaller space where a warm bakery scent does not need to travel far to work.
Trim the wood wick to around 5mm before each burn. Snap off any charred tip before relighting to keep the flame steady and the crackle consistent.
The tin lid keeps the fragrance in between burns. Store away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
