The Rhubarb Roses 280g is a large rose candle built for spaces where a standard candle does not carry. Tart rhubarb opens it, rose and jasmine carry the heart, amber grounds the base. The same modern floral character as the 200g, with more wax, a longer burn and the fragrance throw to fill an open room.
Hand-poured in Melbourne, 280g natural soy wax, FSC certified wood wick. The large floral candle in the Renaissance range for people who want the rose to actually reach the room.
About the Rhubarb Roses 280g
Floral candles ask a lot of a large space. A rose scented candle that works beautifully on a bedside table can disappear entirely in an open living room, not because the fragrance is weak but because the wax volume is not built for the scale.
The Rhubarb Roses 280g solves that. The wider ceramic diameter creates a larger melt pool as the soy wax burns, releasing more fragrance into the air and pushing the rhubarb, rose and jasmine further into the room. The result is a large floral candle that actually behaves like one - present, warm and noticeable without needing to be directly beside you to work.
The fragrance itself is unchanged from the 200g. Rhubarb opens with its distinctive tartness, cutting through any heaviness before the rose arrives. Rose and jasmine sit together in the heart - the rose warm and familiar, the jasmine softer and creamier alongside it, the two balancing each other in a way that keeps the floral from tipping into powdery or sweet. Amber in the base is what holds it all together, adding resinous warmth that lets the floral notes stay present as the burn progresses.
This is a romantic large candle for a room you want to feel considered. Not a background scent. Not something that works only in a small space. A large rose candle built to fill the room it sits in.

Scent Notes
Top: Rhubarb Heart: Rose, Jasmine Base: Amber
Reading the Notes
Rhubarb — tart and bright, the opening note that gives this large floral candle its edge. It cuts through the heart before the rose arrives and keeps the fragrance from reading as heavy in a large room.
Rose — the heart of the candle and the reason it works at 280g. At this volume, rose has room to carry properly across a space rather than hovering near the flame.
Jasmine — softer and creamier than rose, it rounds the floral heart without adding sweetness. The note that stops this from being a straightforward rose candle and makes it more interesting.
Amber — warm and resinous in the base. At 280g, amber is what gives the fragrance its staying power across a large room, anchoring the rhubarb and floral notes as the burn deepens.
Why 280g
The difference between 200g and 280g is what the fragrance can reach.
A wider melt pool means more wax surface releasing fragrance at once. For a rose soy candle in a large open space, that is the difference between a scent that stays near the candle and one that changes how the whole room feels. The 280g ceramic creates that pool faster and holds it wider than the 200g, which is why it suits open-plan rooms, large bedrooms and dining areas where a standard candle would fall short.

The 280g is for when the room is bigger than that. For smaller spaces or gifting, the 115g travel tin carries the same fragrance at a lighter scale.
How to Use
Burn the 280g for at least two to three hours on the first light. The larger ceramic takes longer to build a full melt pool, and getting it right on the first burn sets the pattern for every use after that.
Trim the wood wick to around 5mm before each use. Snap off any charred tip before relighting to keep the flame height steady and the crackle consistent.
Keep the candle away from draughts and direct sunlight when burning and when stored.
