Most candles are made to be easy. Blazing Night is not, and that is not a criticism.
Orange opens it, bright and citrusy, with enough freshness to keep the opening from closing in too early. Nutmeg follows, dry and warm, pulling the fragrance away from fruit and toward spice. Then the patchouli arrives, deep and earthy, with the kind of presence that changes how a room feels rather than just how it smells. Warm spice runs through the whole burn as a thread, connecting the orange top to the patchouli base without making either feel like a compromise.
The effect is a moody evening candle that earns that description. Dark without being heavy. Earthy without being cold. The kind of scent that suits a room after dark, when the light is low and you want the air to feel like a decision was made about the evening.
Patchouli has a reputation that precedes it. In Blazing Night, it is not the only thing happening. The orange and nutmeg top give it context and lift, which is why this reads as a spiced autumn candle rather than a straight patchouli. People who think they do not like patchouli often find they like this one.
The 200g ceramic burns with an FSC certified wood wick that crackles softly as the wax melts. For a fragrance this warm and deep, that crackle fits. Developed in-house by founders Suji and Jeeva, IFRA certified and cruelty free, poured by hand in Melbourne.
Scent notes
Top: Orange, Nutmeg Heart: Warm Spice Base: Patchouli
Reading the notes
Orange- the opening note that stops Blazing Night from becoming too heavy too fast. Citrusy and bright, it gives the fragrance its first phase before the spice takes over.
Nutmeg- dry and woody alongside the orange, it pulls the opening away from fruit and toward the warm, spiced character that defines the rest of the burn.
Warm spice - the heart note that connects the orange top to the patchouli base. It sits through the middle of the burn as the spice deepens and the citrus fades.
Patchouli- earthy, deep and persistent. The base note that makes Blazing Night the candle it is. Not sharp, not synthetic. Warm and grounding in the way patchouli is when it is part of a well-built fragrance rather than the whole thing.
How to use
Burn Blazing Night for at least two hours on the first light. This gives the melt pool time to reach the edges of the ceramic and sets the burn pattern for every use after that.
Trim the wick to around 5mm before each burn. Wood wicks occasionally need the charred tip snapped off before relighting to keep the flame height steady and the crackle consistent.
Store the candle away from direct sunlight between burns to hold the fragrance.
