Under the Hazelnut Tree is a hazelnut candle that opens with roasted nut warmth, moves through brown sugar and almond and settles into a soft, sweet base that lingers. A gourmand candle built for rooms where you want the air to feel warm and indulgent without tipping into a bakery.
Hand-poured in Melbourne, 300g natural soy wax, FSC certified wood wick. The sweet gourmand candle in the Santorini collection for people who want their home to smell like the best part of the day.
About Under the Hazelnut Tree
Gourmand candles have a reputation for being too much. Too sweet, too close to food, too much like being inside a patisserie for an hour too long.
Under the Hazelnut Tree is a gourmand candle that knows where the line is.
The hazelnut opening is roasted and warm rather than synthetic or candy-sweet. It reads as the real thing - nutty, slightly toasty, the kind of scent that feels like a considered decision rather than an air freshener. Brown sugar follows in the heart, adding sweetness without weight, a warmth that rounds the hazelnut without overtaking it. Almond sits alongside it, soft and slightly marzipan in character, deepening the nutty quality of the opening and pulling the fragrance into genuinely cosy sweet candle territory.
The base is where it settles - warm, soft and quietly persistent. Not sharp. Not cloying. The scent equivalent of sitting somewhere comfortable with no particular reason to move.
This is the candle for kitchens, dining rooms and the kind of living rooms where people end up staying longer than they planned to. People who describe themselves as not liking sweet candles find this one sits differently. The hazelnut and almond keep it grounded in something natural, which is what stops it from becoming too much.
Developed in-house by founders Suji and Jeeva, IFRA certified, cruelty free, poured by hand in Melbourne. Part of the Santorini collection, which draws its character from warmth, slow afternoons and the kind of places you do not want to leave.
Scent notes
Top: Hazelnut Heart: Brown Sugar, Almond Base: Warm Gourmand
Reading the notes
Hazelnut — roasted and warm in the opening, with a natural nuttiness that reads as genuine rather than artificial. The note that gives this candle its name and its character from the first light.
Brown sugar — sweet and soft in the heart, without the heaviness of a full caramel or toffee note. It rounds the hazelnut without competing with it and gives the candle its warmth through the middle of the burn.
Almond — slightly marzipan in character, sitting alongside the brown sugar in the heart. It deepens the nutty quality of the opening and adds a softness that pulls the whole fragrance toward the cosy, warm base.
Warm gourmand base — the foundation that holds Under the Hazelnut Tree together and what remains in the room after the candle is out. Soft, sweet and persistent without being heavy.
How to use
Burn Under the Hazelnut Tree for at least two to three hours on the first light. At 300g, the larger ceramic takes time to build a full melt pool, and getting it right on the first burn sets the pattern for every use after that.
Trim the wood wick to around 5mm before each burn. Snap off any charred tip before relighting to keep the flame height steady and the crackle consistent.
Keep the candle away from draughts and direct sunlight when burning and when stored.
