About the Sweet Memories travel candle

The 115g travel tin is where most people start with a new fragrance.

It is the right size for a bathroom shelf, a home office desk or a hotel bedside table. Small enough to sit beside other things without claiming too much space, and compact enough to carry without it being a decision. The travel candle tin holds the same natural soy wax and FSC certified wood wick as the 300g, poured by hand in Melbourne to the same standard.

The fragrance is identical. Pistachio and almond open it with a creamy, natural warmth. Jasmine moves through the heart quietly, adding a soft floral quality before the sandalwood and musk base settles in. Warm, woody and gently sweet. The kind of scent that makes a small room feel considered rather than accidental.

Ina 115g tin, the sandalwood base carries well in a smaller space without needing a wide melt pool to work. A bathroom or bedroom gets the full character of the fragrance without a 300g sitting on the shelf. For open living areas and larger rooms, the 300g Sweet Memories carries the sandalwood further.

Reading the notes

Pistachio — creamy and naturally nutty in the opening. In a 115g tin, it comes through clearly in smaller spaces where the fragrance does not need to travel far to work.

Almond — soft and warm alongside the pistachio, deepening the nutty character of the opening and pulling it toward the sandalwood base that follows.

Jasmine — quiet and soft in the heart, adding a light floral note between the nutty opening and the woody base. The note that stops this from reading as a purely gourmand travel candle.

Sandalwood — warm and woody in the base. At 115g, the sandalwood settles into a small room well, giving the travel candle a depth that outlasts most other notes at this size.

Musk — soft and skin-like alongside the sandalwood. It extends the base through the burn and leaves a quiet warmth in the room after the candle is out.

How to use

Burn the travel tin for one to two hours per session. The 115g suits smaller spaces and shorter burns rather than the longer sessions a 300g needs.

Trim the wood wick to around 5mm before each burn. Snap off any charred tip before relighting to keep the flame steady and the crackle consistent.

The tin lid keeps the fragrance in between burns. Store the candle away from direct sunlight and heat sources.

Wooden Wick Candle Care Tips

1. Trim the Wick: Before each use, trim the wooden wick to about 1/8 inch (3-4 mm) to ensure a clean and even burn. This prevents the flame from getting too high and smoking.
2. Initial Burn: Allow the candle to burn for 2-3 hours during its first use, or until the wax melts evenly across the surface. This prevents tunneling and ensures an even burn in the future.
3. Relighting the Wick: If the wick becomes difficult to light, remove any charred wood gently with a wick trimmer or your fingers. This helps maintain a strong flame.
4. Avoid Drafts: Keep the candle away from drafts, fans, or open windows to prevent uneven burning and soot buildup.
5. Burn Time: Do not burn the candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Allow the wax to solidify before relighting to ensure the best performance.
6. Extinguishing the Flame: Use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame instead of blowing it out. This reduces smoke and preserves the fragrance.
7. Safety First: Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep it away from flammable objects, children, and pets.

Additional Tips

1. Storage: Store candles in a cool, dark place to maintain their fragrance and prolong their life.
2. Wax Care: If the candle develops a memory ring, wrap aluminum foil around the top edge and let it burn for a few hours to even out the wax.
