Candle Care Tips for Your Wood Wick Candle
Prep your wick
Wood wicks don’t need trimming, but they do need a little TLC. After each burn, gently rub off the charred tip with your fingers or a tissue. This helps the candle relight easily and burn cleanly next time.
Know when to say goodbye
Stop burning your candle when the wax is about 1cm from the base of the jar or tin. This prevents overheating and protects the vessel.
Let it melt to the edges
To avoid tunnelling and get the most out of your candle, make sure the melted wax reaches the edges of the jar or tin each time you burn it, especially the first time. Burn for 1–2 hours max per session.
Keep it steady
Avoid placing your candle in drafty areas like hallways, near windows, or beside fireplaces. A steady flame = a better burn.
Store it right
Keep your candle in a cool, dry place below 25°C and out of direct sunlight to preserve its quality and fragrance.
Having trouble lighting it?
Rub off any burnt bits from the wick, skip the scissors, and never dig out wax. A fresh wick tip is your best friend for a clean re-light.
